It started with my wife's cleaning business.
She was using one of the popular apps built for cleaning companies — scheduling jobs, managing her team, texting clients. On paper, it did what it was supposed to do. In practice, it fought her every step of the way.
I still remember the day she needed to add a new team member. Simple task, right? Twenty minutes later, she still couldn't find where to do it. She called support. They walked her through it — a setting buried a few menus deep, in a place nobody would think to look. That wasn't a one-time thing, either. Half the "quick tasks" in that app turned into phone calls.
Then there was the texting. Her clients would get messages from some random number — not her business, just a shared number the app used for everyone. Clients didn't recognize it. Some thought it was spam. She'd get calls asking "who is this?" instead of just a reply to the text she'd sent.
I started asking around — other cleaning business owners, lawn care companies, pet groomers, pool service, handymen. Turns out it wasn't just her. The same complaints, over and over: software that made simple things hard, and texting that didn't actually work like texting should.
So I built something different.
With AI doing a lot of the heavy lifting I couldn't have done alone, I set out to fix exactly what was broken — starting with the basics that shouldn't have been hard in the first place. Adding a team member should take seconds, not a phone call. Texting a client should come from a real, dedicated business number, not a shared one that gets flagged as spam.
That became BluuKlr — built first around what I saw in the cleaning industry, then expanded to lawn care, pet grooming, pool service, and handyman businesses, because it turns out the same frustrations show up everywhere in the field service world.
I like to think of BluuKlr as one of the first apps built from the ground up with AI, for the people who actually keep this country running — the crews showing up on time, the owners answering the phone, the businesses getting the work done. That's where "Keeping America Working" comes from. It's not just a tagline. It's who this was built for.
